Note
Topiramate is used to control partial epilepsy and grand mal epileptic seizures. This drug is used when all other antiepileptic drugs fail. This is a very mild antiepileptic drug made to control the partial epilepsy and grand mal epileptic seizures.
Little known facts about these drugs are: abrupt discontinuation of this drug could lead to increase in the epileptic seizures, gradual discontinuation is recommended. Topamax Dosage has to be taken care of. Avoid breaking the capsule; chewing the capsule is not advisable. Topamax can be had before or after food.
Side Effects of this drug are: Topimax is known to cause kidney stones taking plenty of fluids is recommended. In case of having missed topimax you can take it immediately but double dosage is strictly prohibited. Other side effects are fatigue, abnormal vision, mood swings etc.
Children have shown aggressiveness, loss of appetite, skin disorders etc. As Topamax is known to cause dizziness, confusion etc. it should be avoided while driving or operating machines. In case loss of vision or any liver ailments you need to consult your doctor immediately. Topiramate Medication if taken with drugs like Acetazolamide, Digoxin, and Oral Contraceptives etc. can either have an increased or decreased side effect; check out with your doctor before using them.
Topamax and pregnancy don’t go well as it has known to cause harmful effects on the foetus, same with nursing mothers. Surprisingly Topiramate can be used to treat Alcoholism as it is known to reduce alcohol craving. Topamax migraine helps prevent migraine attacks. Whatever may be the reason the need to consult your doctor is important before the use of this medication. Do not waste time and contact your doctor immediately when you feel any irritation or any kind of unexpected side effects before its too late to cure them.

The efficacy of topiramate for the treatment of epilepsy. The degradation of topiramate in liquid oral solutions by high performance liquid chromatography with a chemiluminescent nitrogen detector. This mode of treatment is productively used for probe constancy studies in support of early phase formulation development.
Topiramate is a sulfamate-substituted monosaccharide that is prescribed for the treatment of epilepsy. It has been a challenge to develop analytical methods for topiramate formulations because the compounds of interest do not have chromophores that are active above 190nm and because of interference from excipients. This paper describes a simple, specific, precise, accurate, and sensitive method using a chemiluminescent nitrogen detector. The method has a validated linearity range of 32-4800ng of topiramate and excellent precision (system repeatability). The limit of quantitation was determined to be 0.1% for the degradation product w/w versus topiramate. The method has been successfully used for probe stability studies in support of early phase formulation development.
