Crestor notes:
Crestor generic name rosuvastatin a member of class statins is used to treat high cholesterol and to prevent cardiovascular disease. Crestor works by reducing levels of low density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood while increasing levels of high density lipoprotein (HDL).
Lowering cholesterol can help prevent heart disease and hardening of arteries that can lead to heart attack, stroke and vascular disease.
Rosuvastatin calcium is a synthetic lipid lowering agent approved as a treatment for hypercholesterolemia. It is a part of complete program that also includes diet, exercise and weight control.
Crestor side effects includes muscle pain, tenderness, urinating more or less than usual, loss of appetite, clay-colored stools, chest pain, mild nausea, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, memory loss or headache.
It is recommended not to take this medication if allergic to rosuvastatin, have liver disease or if you are pregnant or breast feeding a baby. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking crestor, it can increase triglyceride levels.
Store this medication at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
